Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has dismissed rumours of him bringing his son Giovanni to Wanda Metropolitano.
According to , Simeone spoke on TV about the matter and revealed he has no intention of signing his son, ever. As the reason for this stance, the 48-year-old simply says having your own kid in the dressing room is not something he wants in his career.
Giovanni spent four seasons as a River Plate player in Argentina, two of which he spent on loan at Banfield. He moved to Genoa in 2016, and then to Fiorentina a year later. For the Viola the 23-year-old striker has so far made a total of 42 appearances, with 15 goals to his name.
He has been linked with joining his father this summer, but it seems El Cholito won t be plying his trade at Atletico just yet. However, Diego left the possibility of the transfer happening when he leaves the club wide open, adding that his son has everything as a football player.
