Quick analysis of the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League Round Of 16 draw
There are several things to note following the draw. Germany are the only country with three teams in this round, while England, Italy and Spain have two each. The remaining countries have one representative, but some squads have surprised with their presence in this round.
For instance, who would have thought Olympiacos would eliminate Arsenal? Or that LASK Linz would eliminate AZ Alkmaar? Certainly no one saw that coming. Celtic, Benfica, FC Porto and Ajax were other top teams that were eliminated earlier than anticipated.
The most interesting tie, by all accounts, will be the one of Sevilla playing against AS Roma. Both teams could easily be considered as title contenders, but only of them will reach the quarterfinals.
The lone two Premier League squad left in the competition have relatively easy fixtures. Manchester United will face LASK Link, while Wolverhampton will take on Olympiacos. Unless an upset occurs, both sides should cruise their way towards the next stage.
