Sarri discusses Juventus links amid Chelsea uncertainty

Maurizio Sarri is unsure about his future as the Chelsea head coach discussed links to Serie A champions Juventus.

Sarri claimed his first piece of major silverware on Wednesday, guiding Chelsea to a 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final.

The Italian arrived at Stamford Bridge on a three-year deal in July 2018, but has been heavily linked with the vacant post at Juve.

Sarri discussed the links and played down suggestions a move to Turin would upset fans of his former club Napoli.

Juve? In the last 20 days, I was sure to move to Roma, then to Milan and now Juventus, he told Sky Sport.

As long as you read the newspapers, it has no effect. Napoli fans don t want me to join them? The fans know the love I feel for them.

They will a…

Gremio refute claims of €40m Arthur agreement with Barcelona

Reports of a €40million agreement between Gremio and Barcelona for midfielder Arthur are wide of the mark, according to the Brazilian club s president Romildo Bolzan.

Barcelona s interest in the 21-year-old midfielder is long-standing, having been linked with him regularly towards the end of 2017, when Arthur was a key part of the Gremio side which won the Copa Libertadores.

Arthur was photographed wearing the Catalan club s jersey in a meeting with their sporting director Robert Fernandez in December.

Although that angered Gremio, they have been in regular dialogue with Barca ever since over a potential move, with reports in Spain claiming on Tuesday that an agreement had finally been made.

But Gremio insists such claims are purely speculation, with a…

UEFA Champions League Preview: Celtic begin campaign, Steaua in Norway

Scottish champions Celtic visit Iceland s KR on Tuesday as qualifying for the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League gathers pace.

The 1967 European Cup winners made it to the group stages after thumping Cliftonville 5-0 over two legs in the second qualifying round last year, but begin the new campaign with a different coach at the helm.

Ronny Deila is the man charged with filling the boots of former Celtic Park boss Neil Lennon, who won five Scottish titles as a player before guiding the club to three consecutive crowns in the past three seasons.

And Deila will be keen to make a winning start in Iceland this week, with the second leg set to take place at Murrayfield as Celtic s Glasgow home plays host to the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.

Deila s former clu…

Should Swansea fans fear for next season?

Swansea boss Garry Monk will lose a number of his first team squad this summer, but can he move the club forward next season?

Swansea City seems to be at the hub of a lot of transfer activity at the moment. Sky Sports are reporting that Dutch keeper Michel Vorm has agreed terms to move to Tottenham, while Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is moving in the opposite direction.

Young Wales international full-back Ben Davies is also reportedly close to sealing a move to White Hart Lane in a swap deal involving Sigurdsson.

Then there is striker Wilfried Bony, who has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, amongst others.

There seems to be a mass exodus happening at the Liberty Stadium and this summer could be a worrying one for Swans…

Juventus to use Dybala in Pogba deal?

According to a recent report from ESPN, Juventus could use Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi in a deal to sign Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder has been heavily linked with a return to the Italian giants, and Juve themselves seem to be particularly interested in making it happen. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, is well aware of the quality that the Frenchman brings to the side at Old Trafford, and he won’t want to let him go without getting something in return which is where this idea comes in.

The two for one deal could wind up being the best possible switch for United, especially when you consider just how inconsistent Pogba has been at times in the last few years.

We ve heard about Dybala possibly leaving Juve for a while now but nothing has…

West Ham v Southampton: Koeman anticipating physical West Ham challenge

Ronald Koeman is anticipating a stern physical test at West Ham as he seeks his first Premier League victory as Southampton manager.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool and a goalless home draw with West Brom, Southampton travel to Upton Park on Saturday still searching for their opening league win of the new season under the Dutchman, who took over from Mauricio Pochettino in June.

Southampton did record a 2-0 League Cup second-round success at Millwall on Tuesday, and Koeman is now eager to build on that triumph.

However, the 51-year-old knows that will be no easy feat at a ground where the south-coast club were beaten 3-1 last season and 4-1 in 2012-13.

It s always important [to win] because that s the best way to have the confidence. You can talk, yo…

England 1-0 Norway: Sterling shines again as Rooney penalty seals win

Wayne Rooney began his tenure as England captain with a goal as the Three Lions beat Norway 1-0 in a friendly at Wembley.

Roy Hodgson s side, preparing for their first match of Euro 2016 qualifying on Monday, played to a sparse crowd of just 40,181 after their disastrous World Cup campaign and were unable to make a breakthrough before half-time in an unimpressive performance.

The moment came when Omar Elabdellaoui felled Raheem Sterling in the penalty box 67 minutes into the game, whereupon Rooney stepped up to blast home his 41st international goal, taking him above Michael Owen in the country s all-time highest-scorers list, with only Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker and Jimmy Greaves still ahead of him.

England s performance will do little to boost confidence ah…
